Collaboration between students of viticulture and wine-making

After Covid-19, student life has entered an active phase.

With the organization of department of viticulture and wine-making, of the faculty of agricultural sciences and biosystem engineering, many important activities are planned.

Student events will support not only students, in meeting each other as the future wine growers and makers, but also in representing their work and sharing experience.

In 2022-2023 academic educational year, another important collaboration has been initiated, in means of Bachelors, Masters and graduates of viticulture and wine-making working together, in order to share the theoretical and practical experiences.

First meeting has been held between the students of the third and fourth courses of the bachelor program “viticulture and oenology”.

Distinguished students of the concluding course of the double-diploma program: Irakli Atanelishvili and Sandro Dzeria, shared the experiences of viticulture and winemaking to their younger colleagues and represented their own production. They provided the student audience with the information about the specifics of grape species, harvest, grape processing. They introduced the ongoing processes in their winery and cellar, talked about the PDO and Qvevri wines, produced by them.

Meeting of the 3rd and 4th courses ended with degustation of wine and discussion.

It is to be noted, that similar events will be of constant character and will support the development of future collaboration between students on different steps of the program of viticulture and wine-making.

The activities are and will be held by the support of the Dean of Agricultural Sciences and Biosystem Engineering.
