An interesting webinar "National Education Initiatives in Accounting and Auditing / Integration of Higher and Vocational Education" was held on April 27 with the support of World Bank and European Union with business participation of GTU Professors (Faculty of Business Technologies): Evgeni Baratashvili, Levan Grigalashvili, Natela Martinenko, Khatuna Kharkhelauri, Tamar Khinikadze, Rati Burdiashvili, Nino Failodze

The webinar addressed issues related to the necessary integration of teaching in higher education and vocational (Buffy, ACCA) institutions in the field of accounting and auditing.

The World Bank Group is implementing a program aimed at approximating the syllabi of accounting and auditing courses in the curricula of higher education institutions to the standards of professional organizations (Buff, ACCA) and their adoption.

This process has been going successfully for several years and will continue.

The representative of the World Bank offered assistance to the representatives of higher education institutions who have not yet been involved in this process in the following areas:

• ACCA study materials and samples of exam questions in Georgian,

• Workshops on syllabus integration and teaching materials

• Materials of the best practice of exams.

Involvement in the project will significantly improve the competitiveness of the faculty’s educational programs.
