Information for foreign citizens who are studying or planning to start studying at the Georgian Technical University

Because of the covid-epidemic situation, foreign citizens  who cross the Georgian border in order to continue their studies in Georgia, including Georgian Technical University, must undergo the following mandatory procedures:

1. Covid-19 related PCR testing;
2. Quarantine period;
3. Take Covid-19 insurance in Georgia.
4. Cover both quarantine and related expenses with their own funds;
The total cost of these procedures is approximately US$ 750 equivalent in GEL.


Entering into Georgia

A person shall obtain a permit to enter and reside in Georgia in accordance with the rules established by law by registering in the electronic program of the Government of Georgia.


Registration in the e-program of the Government of Georgia is done on the website: https://stopcov.ge/ , electronically, by filling in the form of the special application indicated on the link - "Registration form for those coming to Georgia for higher education" -

A person who already has the status of a student of a higher education institution operating in Georgia, must have a residence permit issued in accordance with the current legislation.
Upon entering Georgia, a person must have health insurance issued by insurance companies operating in Georgia (which covers the costs of coronavirus treatment in Georgia).
