Appealing of the Learning Outcomes Assessment and Recovery of the Assessment Missing for an Honorable Reason
Extraction from "The Instruction of the Study Process Management of Georgian Technical University" (Article 8)
1. A Student who disagrees with assessment of learning outcomes (current assessment, midterm supplementary exam, testing, thematic seminar, dissertation, master / bachelor's thesis, course project / work, thesis project, practice report and other exam) is entitled to apply to the dean with a substantiated complaint within five working days after the evaluation is known and request to revise the results.
2. The Field Commission set up by the order of the Dean shall consider the complaint and draw up the appropriate conclusion. On the basis of the conclusion, the Dean makes a decision or ensures to consider the issue on the Faculty Board.
3. The decision of the Dean / Faculty Board may be as follows:
A) confirmation of the assessment;
B) repeated assessment under the same conditions;
C) re-evaluation by commission;
D) denial of appeal.
6. If the student fails to attend the current assessment, midterm and / or final / additional exam due to illness or other honorable cause, he / she has the right to apply to the Vice Rector no later than 15 days after the above reason has been eliminated.
• The student is obliged to attach a statement / documents confirming the reason / s for the assessment / exam recovery. The student must also submit extracts of his / her electronic statements (from the Student's Online Academic Registration System page).
• Restoration of current assessments during the first 6 weeks of the semester should be completed before the midterm exam in the relevant course, Restoration of midterm should be completed by the end of the 17th week (before sessions begin), Restoration of current assessments in the 7th - 15th weeks - until relevant final exams; And a final / extra experience Recovery - until the endof the next semester. Time and place of recovery exam should be agreed with the Dean's Office / Testing Center / Training Course leading professor .
