29-10-2019

Public Lecture Cycle - Professor Wilhelm Hauser’s Lecture

On October 25, 2019, Professor of Saarland University of Applied Sciences Wilhelm Hauser delivered a lecture on "The Future of Land Transportation in Germany" at the Business Technologies Faculty of Georgia Technical University. The lecture was attended by undergraduate students and professors of the Faculty.
Prof. Hauser discussed the possibilities of using various alternative vehicles (especially rail transport) to maximize the unload of the German land transportation market. Prof. Hauser pointed that logistics service providers have to improve their service themselves. He also considered the traffic problems of German autobahns and existing freight costs.

At the end of the lecture, prof. Hauser discussed with students a practical logistics sample of optimal transportation from one European city to another using combined transport.
The lecture has deserved great approval of the students and professors. At the end of the lecture Dr. Steiner answered the students' questions and a discussion was held.
The lecture was delivered in German. Assistant professor Besarion Sherazadashvili provided synchronous translation from Germany into Georgian language..
