Project PRINTeL - International Conference Workshop and III Coordination Meeting at ISU

11/22/2019 On 13-14 November 2019 at Ilia State University was held an International Conference Workshop within Erasmus+ PRINTeL Project (Change in classroom: Promoting Innovative Teaching&Learning to Enhance Student Learning Experience in Eastern Partnership Countries).

The aim of the Conference was to evaluate the effectiveness of the trainings held within the framework of the project as well as the results gained and challenges identified.

On the first day of conference, 5 sessions were presented about ToT courses conducted at each partner university. Each session had a Chair from European partners and 2 moderators from Georgian, Belarusian and Armenian universities: The main key challenges and solutions were discussed concerning the following topics:
  • Hybrid/Blended Teaching & Learning;
  • Video as a Learning tool for teachers & students: Video Lecturing & promoting Interaction in the Classroom;
  • Active Learning with special focus on Technology Enhanced Collaborative Learning;
  • Active Learning in the Flipped Classroom;
  • Active learning & ICT-enhanced teaching: M-learning & gamification.
At the end of the day, LiU representative Gunvor Larsson Torstendsdotter summarized the first days sessions and closed the conference.

The second day of the Conference was opened with the discussion about training outcomes from trained Faculty members and students perspective. The session participant Professors and other persons involved in the learning process touched upon the effectiveness, benefits and practical application of the trainings; they also dealt with the future plans and voiced their desires and recommendations about the sustainability of the trainings. The students who took the courses through the method were welcome participants of the sessions as well.

The second session was dedicated to the best practices of Teaching Staff Development Centers in European Partner Universities. The representatives of EU Universities talked over the training center models practiced by them to share the experience with the conference participants.

At the end of the second session, Project Coordinator, Prof. Armen Budaghyan summarized and closed the 2-day dissemination conference with final remarks.

After the conference, the third Coordination Meeting in the frame of  PRINTeL Project took place at ISU as well. Mr. Armen Budaghyan represented the Current state of the project implementation. Recent activities and future plans were discussed during the coordination meeting by the coordinators of 5 EU partner and 9 PC universities.

GTU was represented by International Relations and Standards Office and 11 Professor-teachers (Faculty of Engineering Economic, Media Technology and Social Sciences; Faculty of Law and International Relations; Faculty of Transportation and Mechanical Engineering; Faculty of Civil Engineering; Faculty of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy; Faculty of Power Engineering and Telecommunication; Faculty of Agricultural Science and Biosystems Engineering; Faculty of Architecture, Urban Planning and Design), who took part in ToT trainings related to innovation pedagogy at project partner European universities as well as the students who became familiar with this methodology afterwards.
