Erasmus+ Project VitaGLOBAL - Workshop at U.PORTO

05/14/2019 On 1-3 May, 2019 at University of Porto - U.PORTO (Porto, Portugal) was held the second meeting within Erasmus+ VitaGLOBAL project (№585760-EPP-1-2017-1-AM-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP).

The representatives of academic staff and IRO offices from the project consortium member universities took part in the workshop organized at U.PORTO.

During the workshop the project partners reviewed self-assessment survey results and discussed study modules and their components such as length, format, drafting learning outcomes, etc. Workgroups were agreed for each module and a work plan drafted as an output.

Herewith, intensive workshop programme included social-cultural activities organized by the host university and event participants had the opportunity to explore the historic centre of Porto classified as World Heritage by UNESCO since 1996, taking part in the City walking tour organized by the Porto City Hall and visit popular port wine cellar as well.

Prof. Nino Chkhartishvili, Acting Head of the Viticulture and Oenology Department of GTU Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Bio-systems Engineering and Assist. Prof. Nino Zhizhilashvili, Deputy Head of International Relations and Standards Office represented GTU at the event organized at U.PORTO.

The main objective of the project VitaGLOBAL - “A Global Network for Agricultural Sciences and Viniviticulture: Internationalising through Joint Programmes” - is to develop a global university network, connecting diverse geographic regions with limited pre-existing cooperation, in order to enhance study programmes that contribute to local development, specifically in food science and viniviticulture, foci these universities share.

The coordinator of the project is Universitat Rovira I Virgili – URV (Spain). Project consortium consists of 17 institutions from Spain, Italy, France, Portugal, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, South Africa and Georgia.
